Terms and Conditions

GENERAL TERMS AND CONDITIONS:

  • The quotation is valid for a period of 30 days, thereafter it would be subject to any price increases from the manufacturers and/variations in the exchange rate.
  • The following will be excluded from any quote unless specifically quoted for:
    -Brick channels for gate to slide, where required.
    -Removal of trees and vegetation, where required.
    -Doggy bars, decorative spikes, posts and portals.
    -Feathering of driveway where the driveway is not completely level at position where track will be laid.
  • All systems carry a one year manufacturer’s warranty, unless otherwise stated, against latent defects only. Lightning, malicious damage, infestations, acts of nature and tampering are excluded.
  • Motor Gearboxes carry’s a 2 year guarantee
  • Galvanized steel 10 year guarantee (Provided there is no physical damage)
  • All service calls due to malfunctioning of a system will be free of charge for a period of 12 months from the date of installation, provided the location falls within the Durban Metropolitan Area.
  • A deposit of 70% is required upfront, unless otherwise discussed, and the balance will be payable on the day of installation BEFORE the team is dispatched. The payment must reflect in the bank or proof of payment directly from your bank is acceptable.
  • The Gate Doctor cc will not be liable for any damage to private property or injuries to persons sustained due to the malfunctioning of a system.
  • The ownership in and to all goods remain vested in the Gate Doctor cc until paid in full.
  • In the instance that paving is to be lifted so that the cable may be run by ourselves, it is the owner of the property responsibility to have the paving lifted and replaced by another party.
  • The Gate Doctor cc will not be held responsible for ANY underground cable and pipe being damaged, whether based in concrete or not, unless the client is able to show the technicians exactly where it is laid.
  • By his/her acceptance of this quotation, the person so signing acknowledges that he/she is solely liable and responsible for the payment of the resultant invoice. No invoices shall be issued to or forwarded to third parties for payment. In the event that the quotation is issued to a company, close corporation or trust, the person signing the acceptance, by his/her signature warrants that he/she is duly authorised thereto and binds themselves as surety and co-principal debtor in solidum with the company, close corporation or trust.
  • In the event of the invoice remaining unpaid for longer than a period of 24 hours, interest will be charged on the outstanding amount at the rate prescribed by the law. Should the job that has been done not have been done to your satisfaction you are required to lodge a complaint with us in writing within 48 hours of the date of this invoice. In the event of a complaint not being lodged with us within this period we shall assume that the work has been done to your satisfaction and will not be entertaining any “complaints” thereafter. Please note that in the event of this invoice remaining unpaid for longer than 48 hours after presentation and no complaint aforesaid having been lodged with us we shall hand the matter over to our attorneys for collection in which event you shall be liable for all costs incurred, including those on the scale as between attorney and client.
  • Electrical Certification, if required, will attract additional costs.
  • 220V Plug points and water to be supplied by the client on site unless otherwise specified.
  • We cannot guarantee cabling if not replaced.
  • If there has been lightning damage, all equipment is to be replaced, not just a part/ piece.
  • If cabling shows signs of being weak/broken/ lost cause, we shall quote on replacement.
  • Steel fabrication will take 2-3 weeks, could be quicker depending on work load.
  • We only start manufacturing steelwork once the drawings have been signed off. This then determines date of fitment.
  • Call out fees are inclusive of travel and labour up to the first half an hour which is either payable upfront via EFT or strictly cash on site, thereafter an hourly labour rate will be charged.
  • Any additional parts required will be quoted on site for payment upfront.
  • If payment cannot be done whilst the technician is on site, an additional fitment fee will be added on for us to return to site.
